...WaNdErLuSt...

God really loves me, He has proven it.

You know how?

1. He didn't let me slip off to #2 this Third Quarter. Instead, Joanna and I tied at 1.5.
2. He gave me my first choice of course and campus in UP--BS Psychology in UP Diliman!

Best of all...

I won SECOND PLACE in the NATIONAL Schools Press Conference in Editorial Writing English! ;)

Anyway, Mindanao was such a BEAUTIFUL place. From the top it was all green with coconut trees all over. The food was also GRREAT. I fell in love with the barbecued chicken skin on a stick and saang, a native shellfish.

We stayed at Ninang Tess and family's place in Butuan and left for Surigao the next day. There, Tito Bong and family continued the flow of Mindanao hospitality. We were supposed to go to Siargao but the boat would be returning the next day and we feared I would miss my contest so we just stayed in the hotel room to get some zzz's.

Anyway, the next day after my contest, we returned to Butuan with a little side trips for picture taking. Mindanao is really gifted with celestial views. Grabe. As I left the contest venue, I promised myself that if I lose, it would be okay. Besides, I thought I really messed up on that editorial. Ack. And so that night we filled our tummies with ihaw-ihaw. There was actually a bomb threat in Butuan but we still ate out. LOL.

The day after that was departure time. We said our goodbyes to Ninang Tess and Tito Joseph while Trish, my kinakapatid, bid farewell through SMS. Trish, I can't believe it's been 11 years! We actually landed at Cebu for a connecting flight to Manila. Imagine how tiring it was spending the entire day traveling! And so, we were able to trek Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon all in one day. ;)

Here's a pic of my dad on our way to Manila. You'll see how loyal he is to Starbucks! ;)

Lake Mainit from different perspectives.

*Staged.
My presscon experience wouldn't be complete without my stage parents. LOL.

*Random stuff.

Because of my presscon-slash-traveling experience, I vow to travel the rest of the Philippines in the coming years.
