...tHe LiTtLe bLaCk dReSs...

It was Ate Joefe's debut last night and it seemed like an MG affair coz almost everyone from our school was there. LOL.
I had no choice actually but to wear the little black dress since I had nothing else more decent to wear. I even had my hair curled to match the sophisticated outfit. Then again, my stubborn hair outlasted the curls. Ack.
The debut went pretty well. I think it was really nice of Ate Joefe's aunts to prepare her a song number. She was even actually tearful as the medley ended. Aww, how cute. And her boyfriend Jones, our batchmate, was her escort throughout the night.
BTW, Alv gave me a small bouquet. It was funny how I had to relay everything he was saying to my mom, who was right behind us. =P
Awww. Next year, I'm going to be the debutante. Goodness, how time flies. I'm actually lagging almost three years behind my real age. LOL.

*I really love the effect in this pic. Nauseating. LOL.

...rAnDoM tHoUgHtS...
Okay, nothing special has been going on today but I've been doing a lot of nonsense thinking. :P
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
It's been quite a while since I actually thought about modeling. Yes, it does take years to get projects even for some people who live in the Metro. How about for someone not from there, 10 years? Haha. Anyway. I just want it to be April already so I can go to Manila and make my agency know I'm still alive.
BTW, I'm also thinking of joining the Candy Teen Model contest. Will I? Will I? I dunno what to put in the essay though.
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
Seafood may not be so good after all especially if you're fussy about your looks. Not that I am, but I never knew I'd bloat so much. I'm having an acne breakout too. Yipes. That's the price I have to pay for overeating in Mindanao. LOL.
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
Single life is the best. Right, Raph? If I could just stay like this forever, it would be fine. I hope I don't get too selfish though. Then again, I'd rather be selfish than a martyr! LOL.
I mean, who wouldn't want to be single? I've got no one to stop me from wearing minis, no one take control over my life, no one to get jealous over boy buds. Okay, except for my parents. Anyway, I'm in control of my own life. I am my own person, not just someone's other/better half.
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
Just when I thought I had the male population all figured out, I'm again in a terrible state of confusion. Gemini is definitely a guy sign. All guys have split personalities. It's either they're too fast or too slow. They can get really insensitive but when they're in a state of temporary amnesia, they can be a tad too sweet. They can be so jealous over other guys yet they themselves have a hard time resisting the urge to get another girl's number. They can get so overprotective yet sometimes they just don't seem to care. *sigh*
WEIRD.
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
I wonder why people don't seem to see me as a smart girl at face value. They only say "Matalino ka pala, 'no?" after a long conversation. LOL. I don't know if it's still something to laugh about, though. Although it's a good cover-up. I might need it sometime. ;)
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
I need to grow taller. I haven't checked yet if I grew even just a single centimeter, but I badly need it by April. *bites nails*
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
There's this Japanese song I've heard on the radio two weeks ago. I dunno if it's Utada Hikaru but I hafta get it. No idea how. LOL. It's stuck in my head. Ack. Can't get it out. *bangs head on nearby wall*
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
My brothers are having a Farting Showdown right now. I have no choice but to love them for who they are otherwise I'd have to leave the computer.
◙ ◙ ◙ ◙
End of rambling session.

...WaNdErLuSt...
God really loves me, He has proven it.
You know how?
1. He didn't let me slip off to #2 this Third Quarter. Instead, Joanna and I tied at 1.5.
2. He gave me my first choice of course and campus in UP--BS Psychology in UP Diliman!
Best of all...
I won SECOND PLACE in the NATIONAL Schools Press Conference in Editorial Writing English! ;)
Anyway, Mindanao was such a BEAUTIFUL place. From the top it was all green with coconut trees all over. The food was also GRREAT. I fell in love with the barbecued chicken skin on a stick and saang, a native shellfish.
We stayed at Ninang Tess and family's place in Butuan and left for Surigao the next day. There, Tito Bong and family continued the flow of Mindanao hospitality. We were supposed to go to Siargao but the boat would be returning the next day and we feared I would miss my contest so we just stayed in the hotel room to get some zzz's.
Anyway, the next day after my contest, we returned to Butuan with a little side trips for picture taking. Mindanao is really gifted with celestial views. Grabe. As I left the contest venue, I promised myself that if I lose, it would be okay. Besides, I thought I really messed up on that editorial. Ack. And so that night we filled our tummies with ihaw-ihaw. There was actually a bomb threat in Butuan but we still ate out. LOL.
The day after that was departure time. We said our goodbyes to Ninang Tess and Tito Joseph while Trish, my kinakapatid, bid farewell through SMS. Trish, I can't believe it's been 11 years! We actually landed at Cebu for a connecting flight to Manila. Imagine how tiring it was spending the entire day traveling! And so, we were able to trek Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon all in one day. ;)

Here's a pic of my dad on our way to Manila. You'll see how loyal he is to Starbucks! ;)

Because of my presscon-slash-traveling experience, I vow to travel the rest of the Philippines in the coming years.

...MiSs MeSsEd-Up...
Hey guys! I'm back from Mindanao. I'm really bloated and I've got zits from all that yummy seafood!
My apologies for not being able to write my story from the South but I promise to write it tomorrow. Right now I'm too tired and well, sleepy. And OVERFED. LOL. But I really had fun traveling.
Anyway, I'm feeling really nostalgic right now after I got to view the prom pics Alv sent me. Alv, dood. I'm dead serious. The prom was so much better this year than last year! ;)
*Promenostalgic

*Quasi-first.
Alv was actually my first real slowdance. Too bad, Koko. We were malas with the music! :(

*Save the best for last.Ü
I kept waiting for Daryl to ask me like he promised. I thought it would never happen. But it did. And it indeed was the best dance ever. :)
More pics coming, STAY TUNED! :D

:)
Hey. I'll be going to Manila right now for our flight tomorrow going to Surigao.
Yep, you got that right. It'll be the National Schools Press Conference and I'll be participating in the Editorial Writing contest.
Please pray for me that I will be doing my best. ;)

...wHiCh iS wHicH??
I just got from Tanya's party. It was really fun, but I don't think I enjoyed much.
Someone kept tagging along with me but I had my eyes on someone else. Ack. I know. I feel sooo GUILTY. But is it my fault that guy was paying extra attention to me? I didn't ask for it, did I?!
I will be like this for I-dunno-how-long. When I leave for Surigao this Sunday, two boys will be on my mind during the plane ride. I-trashed-you-before guy is now hurting. The guy I'm liking right now will only talk to me when the other one's not around.
Ack. Help. I'm really confused. I don't even know why I am.
How will you know which one would treat you better? The one who trashed you before but now wants you back? Or the one whose sweet punchlines come only once in a blue moon?
Sometimes, single life can just

...DaDdY LoVe...
Sometimes, dads can beat moms in this little household game called NAGGING.
And sometimes, they tend to get hooked on this little game just the way our stinky little brothers are addicted to Ragnarok.
Yes, Dads, we will always love you to death and you will always be our #1 Guys. Then again, you should do away with the nagging and let your little girls do the sweet-talking. ;)

...HaPpY hEaRtS...
If you wonder how my Valentine's went, it was pretty fine. Since I had no one in particular to spend it with and give something special to, I decided to give a chosen few chocolates and brownies. :) Toblerones, M&M's, Kisses, and Brownies Unlimited were trademark Chesca V-Day treats for her loved ones.
And remember how I sulked about not having anything for Valentine's? I got two bouquets. One was from Alv (as a peace offering, I guess?) and from someone anonymous. Raph also sent me a bear. I wonder what I should name it. Hmmmm.
I practically spent the entire V-Day with my co-singles. And believe me, was it such a sweet experience to be loveless and sharing your own singleton stories. LOL.
*Oh Happy (Hearts) Day!

*Single and Loving It. Jessie and I...SINGLE. :P
*A Smile in Your Heart. Daryl, another single guy, will give you a million reasons to smile.
*Monkey Mania. The Monkey Club (my Newton friends) enjoying their Toblerones: Mar, Crystal, Kryzl, Patrick, Jo, Alkaide.
*Solo Beauties. Val and I are two happy single girls. ;)
*Bearhuggz! Here's the teddy Raph gave me! Chuuut!
*Music is Love. Guess what Kryzl and Jessie were listening to? The prom CD!
*Chill. Yes, Alv and I are listening to the prom CD too. :P
*Flowers for...? Looks like Girlie's enjoying my bouquet!
My say on yesterday's special occasion?
It was the best Valentine's so far!

...a NiGhT tO rEmEmBeR...
Last night was the BEST prom ever, believe me!
A lot of things unexpectedly happened....
1. I won PROM QUEEN!
2. Daryl and I won BEST DANCING COUPLE!
3. Val won Ms. Senior
4. My bets for Prom King (Alvin and Alkaide) didn't make it. (Awww!)
5. Koko who wasn't able to ask me to dance last year was my FIRST DANCE!
Okay. Too much happened. I went inside the venue together with the rest of the barkada excluding Joanna and Judith because they still weren't there. Most of us were dateless, FYI. I don't know if I got it right, but Jessie told me that Alvin gave Val, his date, fifty roses. Not sure if it was true though. NOT THAT I CARE. ;)
Anyways, after dinner, it was the Grand Entrance. My sandal straps were like, falling off! But that was okay, I enjoyed seeing everyone else in their cute gowns. :)
After the Rigodon, it was dance time. Sure, being dateless had its perks. But honey, being dateless means you really have to WAIT for someone to ask you to dance. Koko was my first dance but the music wasn't really romantic. It was groovy. My first real slowdance was Alvin. Hah, yeah. Alvin. Actually we started off with groovy music too but the music suddenly shifted to VALENTINE, the very song we danced to last year.
Then came the selection of Top Ten finalists. Fortunately, I didn't try too hard unlike what I did last year. LOL. I know. I just POSED. Haha. Elegantly. Yes, more lady-like. :P
I kept waiting for Bugs to pick me up and ask me. But he never came. I changed partners several times but he never exchanged with them. So I sat down. And waited.
A few minutes later, Andrew called me from behind. I was like, "Yeeeesss??" and there was Daryl approaching me as he reached out for my hand. He was my last dance BTW. ;)
And then came the awarding of major and special awards. Juniors Dennis Caliwag won Stag of the Night, Aicha Cacho won Cinderella of the Night, Best Dressed were Adam and Tanya, my batchmates. But I could NOT believe my ears when the emcee called on Daryl Aldana and Chesca Sumilang as Best Dancing Couple. I was like, "Whaaaaaattt?!?". And we were both laughing it off. Worse, my mom awarded us. LOL.
Then it was the awarding of Mr. and Ms. Junior. Levi Dy and Monica Pastoral won. But what really surprised me was the announcement of Koko and Val as Mr. and Ms. Senior. They both really deserved the award. Jayson Yu, a junior, was Prom King.
I didn't really expect to win PROM QUEEN since I thought the awards were just distributed so that the finalists would feel like winners even without the main titles. I was just surprised when they announced that the Prom Queen was #15 from the Seniors.
After that, our barkada had this little disagreement. And GREAT. We weren't able to have our barkada pic because of that. :( While waiting for their decision, I was with Alvin and Daryl near the bridge. Actually, Alv was on the phone while Daryl and I still wondered who chose the both of us for the award. LOL.
After I finally had my solo pic taken, my mom and I went to Kicaco for a dose of caffeine. While we were talking, a group of guys from the other table popped my mom a question and the next thing you know, they were introducing themselves to her.
GUY: By the way, I'm ______.
MOM: Dr. Sumilang. And this pala is my daughter Chesca.
GUY: (looks shocked) Oh, I thought you were sisters!
So great. My mom's flattered again. You know, that wasn't the first time it happened.
*Prepping up

*Waiting in Vain. Maricris and I killing boredom through camwhoring. LOL.
*Fly Away? Joanna having her hair done. THE HARD WAY.
*Tha Gown. This was how my gown looked like. :)
*Final Touches. Mar getting polished for the prom.
*Prom Proper

*SLGP By Pairs. Sette and Pao. Jill and Les. Cony and Pam. Yani and Alkaide. Chesca and Joe. Jo and Judith.

*Bright Lights. SLGP in one big happy table. ;)
*Freaky Friday. This was during the Rigodon. If you look closely, all our eyes are glowing. Waaaay freaky. Daryl's my Rigodon partner too, BTW.

*Femme Fatale. Sneaking some camwhore moments. ;)
*Afterparty.

*We Like.
*Addict. She just loves coffee too much.
*White Lady. We just had to use the cam's flash coz it was too dark.
*Clickeroo. She just loves her cam, doesn't she? ;)

*Clothing Code. Another shot of the simple dress I wore to the prom. :)
*GOTH. Can you feel the gothic undertone?
I'm CRAZY FOR this prom. :)

...pRe-PrOm ThOuGhTs...
On Friday as I step inside the venue, I will leave all fears and inhibitions behind me. Never mind if my gown doesn't fit well (Grr. It didn't look good earlier when I had my fitting!). Never mind if I'm dateless. As long as I'm all geared up with total confidence, I will rock the prom.
I just realized being dateless is perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure my boy buds will fill in really well for that one single guy who failed to ask me,
Hey. I fitted my gown earlier. It was awful. It was too tight and too loose at the wrong places. Goodness. Then again, the gown won't wear me. With my mega-watt smile, I will make everyone lighten up.
But you know what, I'll be waiting for
On Friday, I will have the time of my life. ;)

...BaBy bLuEs...
I realized it has been a while since I wrote an entry. My LJ's turned into a photoblog for goodness sake! LOL.
Anyway, I just wanna share something I replied to a post by someone who wanted to abort her baby:
Honey, never EVER abort. Imagine how lucky you are because your mom didn't have you aborted. You know what, she could have gotten something better or did something better with her career but she still kept you.
Getting pregnant isn't the end of your future, really. You can still rise from that fall without doing wrong. You can still prove your worth.
Hey, your relatives and family will really be disappointed, I know. But they'll despise you even more if you have an abortion. Eventually, they will learn to accept you and your child through time.
Last week's sermon in church talked about every problem as a blessing in disguise. Hey. Who knows, you might become a mom to a genius, a model, a future leader.
I'M SURE THAT CHILD WILL MAKE YOU ONE PROUD MOM SOMEDAY.
As proud as your mom will be when you finally make it through the rain.
Then again, how would YOU guys react if that happened to me? I mean, sure, I have no boyfriend, I am single and I'm only 16. But sh*t happens. And it comes when you least expect it to. WHAT IF? LOL.
(Don't worry, I'll make sure it doesn't happen anyway. LOL.)
Now comment. ;)

...sChOoL sNaPs... (PART TWO)
Okay, so it was FREE DAY today. Free Day in our school happens every last Friday of the month, meaning you can wear ANYTHING (except mini skirts and too revealing outfits).
It was actually supposed to be last Friday but because it was Exam Week, they decided to move it.
*My outfit for today
*Picture Galore!
*Alkaide and his two leading ladies.
*Joanna, Leslei, & Judith.
*A typical day at the White House.
*Yani and me making like shining beauties. Yes, we shine alright. See the faces! LOL.
*Me and the same camwhore boy buds. :)
Macmac, my dearest Food Lane playmate. ;)
Oh gosh. I really am happy today. Aside from the picture galore and whatsoever, someone unexpectedly complimented me about the way I looked today. Yikee. Happy. ;) And that someone isn't just someone. He's someone someone. ;)
...sChOoL sNaPs... (PART ONE)
Here are pics from yesterday, when I decided to bring my dear cam to school.
And guess what? In my batch alone, there are quite a handful of camwhores!
*Camwhores Inc.
*Me, Adam, and Cony looking like we just woke up. It makes sense, though. We just took this before our first subject!
*Sir Friday (Biochem) being ambushed by complaining students. LOL.
*The White House
The White House is the place where Seniors hang out to sleep, jam, study, rush assignments, kid around, etc. This is the ultimate tambayan that we the Seniors more oftenly enjoy than the other batches.
*Alvin and Andrew. Two of my boy buds.
*Krizia, Papa Dix, Val, and Yani.
*The Jingle Belles. Poulla, Gwen, Mae, Cat Lou, & Arianne.
*Jordan, Lara, Yani, Alkaidz, Mar, me, Cathy, and Koko.
*Alkaidz and Maricris flirting with the cam.
*Tha Newton Boyz
Arman. Joseph. Nicolai. Paolo. Charles. Daryl. Andrew.
I am really going to miss these guys. *sigh*
