Finally...

...we're done with the sigsheet signing! We're also done with PEP Week (I wasn't able to take pics. Will browse Ate Liz's Multiply later on.) We survived having to walk one fourth of the Acad Oval (from AS to the Grandstand) in our Encantadia costumes, ramping through the whole of AS (Ate Tin, Lee-Anne, and I) in our palengke costumes, and reliving the Miss UN days in elementary as we introduced ourselves to the POPS and VOPS in our respective national costumes. I had so much fun yesterday. As in the whole day of yesterday. I feel a bit guilty though coz I wasn't able to attend the Freshman Circle meeting as block rep because we needed to practice for the batch presentation for the Tambay Night. Aww, Ian, please understand! To end the night was a big group hug with my co-apps. I've found a family already even before actually passing as a member of Psych Soc.

...I've found time to blog. Here are the pictures I've taken over the weekend as I stayed in Dagupan:

Gabe and GiantLucky Dog
*The two Gs. Gabo carrying Giant. I was teaching him how he looks better when he smiles in pictures then. *Lucky Canine. My sibs tricked me into letting Giant stay on the lazyboy when they said my dad said she's allowed to.

Me and the askal!Them and the askal!
Yes, that IS a bird cage.Green and pink!
Wabbit ears!Marguerite!
*The batkal and the askal. Batkal, as in batang kalye. *Yagit! Gabo and Girlie posing as photog subjects again.
*Yes, it is a bird cage. Giant's so tiny she lives in a bird cage! *Green and pink. Me and my mini-me camwhoring again.
*Isn't she a Wanda? Wanda with her rabbit ears. *Matriarch extraordinaire! The vet told us Margot was the dominant dog during her stay with the vet!

...I've found myself in another sticky situation. And I feel bad about it. :(

PEP Week, here I come! ;)

Starting tomorrow, I'll say goodbye to my reputation as PEP Week starts. (PEP Week is an essential part of our application for the UP Psychology Society, FYI.)

I'll be a treadmill (gym equipment) tomorrow, a portal between two trees on Wednesday (Encantadia), a bangus on Thursday (things you can buy at the wet market), and a Brazilian on Friday (War of the Worlds). Well, it's not as bad as you think since I won't actually be going to class wearing those costumes. We just have to spend an hour and thirty minutes inside the tambayan but I expect group performances in AS or CASAA. Good luck, Ches!

Can't wait to look silly! LOL.

Oh, I'm in Dagupan right now. Will post lots of pics as soon as I get back to Manila later. :)

Rainy days and Tuesdays.

It was a continuously rainy day yesterday. Suddenly, the weather reminded me of good ol' Dagupan City. *sobs* While everyone else was wearing jackets and sweaters, I kept wondering why the weather didn't affect me at all. (Still reminded of the rainy days in Dagupz.)

My walk from the parking lot in front of AS (thanks to Mico and his wheels; Shobe, Mia, and I are regulars) to CAL has got to be the wettest one ever. My poor jeans got soaked, and so did my sneakers. Oh well. I was even surprised when Eljay, my CW 10 classmate, came out of nowhere and asked if I could share the umbrella with him. LOL.

Tuesdays and Fridays have always been my hectic days. Even if my classes end at 1:00pm, I always have to ride jeeps to go to my next subject. Ack. The blasted way to the Ikot station, since we had to go to the gym, was definitely muddy. Ack. Poor sneakers.

Here are some highlights of the day:
* I got a 1.25 in my CW 10 oral exams, and that accounts for 10% of our final grade! Yaaaay!
* We didn't have friggin water for about eight hours! That meant I wasn't able to take a shower when I got home after Aerodance!
* I went to the libe and got some needed readings myself! Clauds will surely be glad I wouldn't have to sweet-talk her into having my readings photocopied along with hers!
* I thought I heard I Believe (from My Sassy Girl) on the radio only to find out it was in Tagalog! OMG, what kind of blasted feeler would have thought of taking away the essence of the song?!
* I slept at 9:30pm last night and woke up at 7:30! So when was the last time I got 10 hours of sleep?!

So yeah. A good grade and eyebags from oversleeping.

Thank God for Wednesdays*. ;)

*For those who don't know, we normally don't have classes on Wednesdays unless you chose a Wednesday subject through CRS.

Happily ever after?

The July ish of Candy Magazine's out already. A special feature for the Candy Teen Model finalists could be found inside, and yes, I'm on page 69. LOL.

The first time I got hold of the mag, I didn't like the way I looked. I was wearing a tight top during the shoot and it made me look fat! LOL. I just kept on ranting. A few people said they didn't like the pose and the outfit but a lot more said I still looked good.

Oh well, so much for vanity. I later realized it wasn't just about the body, or the face, or the pose. It was that big Candy smile that made me a winner. It was all about that smile that diverted the attention from the flaw to the asset. Besides, ranting won't do anything to change it anyway. So if almost everybody still liked it, what else have I got to say?

Looking back during the contest period, I was very hesitant to join. I didn't really want to take it seriously at first so I went aloof. (Who could blame me, I just wanted to enjoy my summer vacation!) I kept on putting off my entry despite Raph's and TeenTalkers' daily reminders. I eventually was able to make habol by sending it two days before the deadline. I finished my essay in less than two hours and I had my pictures taken a week before the deadline. I never expected any call but I got one inviting me to the go-see. Again I never expected a second call but later that evening I was informed I got into the Final Eight. I may not have won the title and the cover but I was surprised to have won the hearts of many TeenTalkers. I have also won the friendships of some of the finalists. I guess that's enough to make me feel like a winner. I have gained three important things along the way--friends, inspiration, and experience. I owe it all to you guys.

Thank you for all the encouragement, constructive criticism, Good lucks, congratulations, You'll make its, and most of all your belief in what I am and what I can do. Because of you, yes YOU, I'm going for greater heights. I've always thought my purpose in life was to inspire others but I never really knew others would manage to inspire me too in ways I could only dream of. I mean this with all my heart when I say I wouldn't have done it without you guys. Again, I thank you.

So now you think I'm living happily ever after?

My quest to fulfill my Cover Girl Dreams has not yet ceased for it still has not been completed. I will continue to work hard to get a step or two closer each time.

I'm not giving up. Not just yet.

Freshteeg!

The Freshteeg! Welcome Concert was super fun last night. I went with Clauds, Shobe, Joy, and their other friends from different schools. We had dinner at the isawan near Kalai! LOL. It was reaaaally crowded in there. Did you guys know I joined Gentext right there and then just to be able to pass thru the special entrance? Otherwise I would have had to fall in line as a regular and wait for hours until I finally got in.

Before we really got to enjoy the concert, the girl next to us was crying... No, she was nearly psychotic! We asked what happened and they told us that the girl had lost her phone. She said it was just in her pocket but when she checked it was gone. Did you know that we were even the ones who had the loss of her cellphone announced?! Tsk. After an hour or so, there were already two other cellphones and one wallet missing. Tsk.

Anyway.

Everybody rocked hard to 6 Cycle Mind's Sige (Daryl, you just missed it!), while I totally fell in love with their version of You and Me. I was totally drained after Sugarfree performed. I'm glad they played Burnout! Giniling Festival was good too! Kitchie's performance was a bit boring. Kjwan did great too. Parokya ni Edgar's performance was sooo cool! (Too bad they didn't play Your Song!) I totally love those guys! ;)

Oh, and here's the catch: I missed HALE's performance! Why? I had to go home. I had a terrible encounter with a stranger. I was irritated but I didn't want it to come to the point that I had to tell him directly what a nuisance he's been for the past two hours. The best way to avoid him was to leave so it could stop once and for all. So I bade my friends goodbye and waited for Kuya Wally outside with my pepper spray in hand. Glad that irritating guy didn't offer at all to take me outside otherwise I would have had to use my martial art skills! As soon as I stepped outside the Bahay ng Alumni, Hale started playing Take No. Fudge, those guys were good! They didn't sound like they were performing live! ARGH!

Moral lessons:
1. Bring Ate Pam, my yaya, to night gimmicks so that guys wouldn't dare come near, especially when I'm with an all-girl company.

2. Tell the 'rent what's exactly happening to avoid panic. They actually thought I was alone and someone was following me. Labo. My dad even said it was going to be my last gimmick!

3. Invite a close guy friend to ward off freakazoids.

4. Never leave without pepper spray. You might not use it all the time but it sure lessens paranoia!
