This entry is all about love.

"Ang OC mo pala."

I was surprised at what my debut coordinator Kenny said as she saw me folding my McDo cheeseburger wrapper right after I gobbled it up. And when I told about my parents about it, my dad said he does the same thing.

So I really am my father's daughter.

And now I don't mind. We do share a lot of things in common even if we don't get along most of the time. We're both determined, impatient, ambitious to a fault, philosophical and pilosopo, quite strict with others having to follow rules when we ourselves like bending 'em... and just tonight, he passed on another one of his traits to me, his daughter (who he treats like a son!): THE LOVE FOR EXOTIC FOOD. We had adobong sawa, crickets in tomato, sizzling unbeheaded pugo, and fried palaka for dinner. (My mom just had to give up and didn't bother to try the crickets!)

And then I told him how I seemed to follow his footsteps. We both slacked off in elementary, delivered valedictory speeches in high school, and now I feel mediocre again in college, just like he did. But he told me not to and to instead try harder since I lived a more comfortable life than he did when he was in college.

Even if sometimes we end up arguing, I've always looked forward to conversations with my dad. Aside from always learning something new, I end up learning a bit more about myself through him.

I love my college friends. They gamely donned vintage lacy tops and made impromptu speeches in front of the camera for the AVP of my 18 Treasures even if it was really something out of character. I know it took a lot for them to actually do that, and I was deeply touched by how they always said, "Anything for you, Chesca!Ü

I was also touched when Kenny told me that Clauds was nervous during the shoot. Aww, Clauds! Love kitaaa! Also when Shobe said in a spaghetti top, "Ikaw lang makakapagsuot sa akin nito!" And when Marielle helped throw leaves at me for a scene in my AVP.

Guys, it really meant a lot to me. I'm glad to have met you all. Believe me, UP life just wouldn't be the same without you! Thank you for being there, always on time. I really, really love you, friends. :)

Watched the first-ever National Cheerleading Competition with Karen earlier at Coliseum. Poveda was great! UP was great too! UP FIGHT! :D

And somewhere in the middle of the program, we began sharing about our ballerina frustrations. And I confessed I've always wanted to try being a member of the pep squad, but Sir Samson wouldn't allow Joanna and me to be excused from his classes.

I'll miss my cheerleading days with Karen and JE. (Although I can't help rejoicing that subject's finally over!)

I'm meeting up with SLGP tomorrow to plan a trip to Baguio soon to celebrate the birthdays of Yani, Cony, Sette, Les, Juds, and Joe.

And while waiting for them, maybe I'll hang out at Kicaco, have some coffee, and just play with my sketchpad once more. :)

Just finished reading Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho. My online friend Mariz recommended it months ago but it was only yesterday that I really had the time to read!

The book was so inspiring. Erotic, yes, but inspiring. I like the idea that you can make love without actually having sex. And that thing about sex being the only way those beings, a man and a woman in one body but with both genitals and different heads who were separated by the envious Zeus, tried to connect and find their pair. It really made sense, you know.

Love doesn't just last eleven minutes. Love lasts all those minutes you'll live, together or apart, for the rest of your life/lives.
