Playground safety.

I just had first-hand experience on the dangers of commuting I was always warned about. (I have no choice though since my dad insists I have formal driving lessons, which I have no time for yet because of the hectic debut preparations.) A Julie's trike-slash-bike crashed into the trike I was riding in and because I anticipated the collision I moved to the left to avoid having any contact with the trike-slash-bike. The impact, however, didn't stop me from losing my balance and hitting my head really hard on one of the trike's steel corners/handles.

That was really close. My head could have hit that corner harder enough to cause injury.

Imagine having to go through that when you've just had a draining Calculus exam plus one helluva workout for Weight Training.

I've always had this feeling of invincibility, which in Psych we call adolescent egocentrism. I would always be game for food trips without even thinking about LBM the next day. I would swim to deeper parts of the pool without even thinking about the odds of drowning. I would attempt carrying heavy things without even thinking about the possibility of straining my back.

That was life before this incident.

Bad things do happen. Just about anybody can fall prey to danger. Anybody, including me.

The world isn't just a playground. Somewhere under the freshly cut grass are sharp rocks that can bruise your knees or broken pieces of glass bottles that can pierce through your bare feet. There are needles hidden in ball pools that can cut you without you noticing. Swing ropes aren't stable all the time. Some jerks put grease on the steps of monkey bars.

Play safely.
