Life lessons from TV.
Yesterday's guesting was fun. I was touched by how some people actually went to school or work late just to catch me on Breakfast. Thanks so much, you guys :) I also was amazed at the effort my dad went through just to be able to tape it and how my mom went on a text brigade to let almost everyone know.
I saw Sitti in the flesh! And Atom too! Whooo boy, nosebleed! :o
It was really fun working with the Summit people. It was a simple stylist showdown and Rene Salud was the judge. Team A (Jasmine and Cherry) made Monique like Heather Graham in Austin Powers while my team, Team B (Shar and Rose), turned me into Jackie O. Team A won but it was okay. We all had fun anyway! (I didn't get to ramp on TV since my fab shoes weren't so fab for walking after all. *sigh*) After that, we went straight to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for breakfast and made a little chika. I had to leave early though and rush to UP to attend Psych 110.
Another page that deserves a bookmark in my book of life :)

I was so glad I got to bond with my co-finalist Monique again. Man, she's really someone to look up to. I remember how we first met at the go-see. She was actually the first one I met, and she was really friendly. But there wasn't much chat until yesterday when I discovered how wonderful a person she really is.
She sings and has frequent gigs in Paranaque, even Alabang. And she lives in Timog. How does she get there? She takes the bus. She's also lived alone with her yaya for the past two years.
It's very seldom that you meet someone in the biz who's genuinely nice and humble.
I wish I could still have the chance to get to know the other Seventeen girls better! :)

The commercial's out! I thought it was a single URC commercial but when I saw it, it was part of the whole JG Summit Holdings, Inc. ad where Sun Cellular, Cebu Pacific, Robinsonland, etc. were also part of the line-up. Which only means BAWAL PUMIKIT if you want to see me hahaha! :P
Hope I can also tape it hehe!
I remember the day we shot that commercial--and the stuff I had to go thru before that shoot. I initially VTR-ed for the telecom (which was Sun Cell) but I was asked to attend the fitting/final casting for "Fun Snacks" (which we didn't know would turn out to be the whole URC lot). Turns out they were actually choosing between me and another girl... Now I know why we were asked to switch places in the car seats. I thought I was a goner and I was still in denial when they gave me the go signal for the shoot the next day. Suddenly the 3:00 AM call-time didn't seem like a big deal.
All for the love of the job, my dear!

Watched High School Musical this morning and Cars in the afternoon. Disney movies are really inspiring!
HSM reminded me of how I loved being on-stage, how I loved performing. But more importantly, it reminded me to never be afraid to be myself. Don't just "stick to what you know". It's very important to grow as a person and the only way you can really grow is to try everything good you want to try. Never let anyone typecast you when you alone can really know yourself. Never let anyone hold you back from being what you really are.
Cars is a favorite since it teaches my favorite life lesson: It's not about reaching the finish line, it's about how you played in the race. There's more to life than just winning. It's about how you kept your relationships with different people, how you've aspired to inspire and touch others' lives, how you handled everything--blessings, problems--that came your way...
As much as we all want those Piston Cups, we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves. Delight in each opportunity to give others a push towards their own dreams.
And if you don't get that Piston Cup, cheer up. It's just an empty can. ;)

Experience is the best teacher. Real learning comes from it. You will forget the things you read in your textbooks and handouts but you will never forget those events that have made you wiser and stronger. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and get hurt. Learn from other people. Discover another person inside of you who's waiting to come out.
Everything's going to be fine, little girl :)
Take things slow and easy. Don't worry too much. Keep that smile.
Life's not so bad after all! ;)
